Mubarak: I quit to protect citizens

Former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak was quoted as saying that he heeded the people's demand that he resign in order to protect the lives of Egyptian citizens, Al-Masry Al-Youm reported.
According to the newspaper, Mubarak said the number of citizens who called for his ouster during the January 25 Revolution was smaller than the number of people protesting against current the current president, Mohammed Morsi. (Roi Kais)
