MK Cabel calls for open primaries in Labor chairman elections

Knesset Member Eitan Cabel (Labor) calls on Labor Chairwoman Shelly Yachimovich to convene the party's Committee and set a date for the chairman elections.
Cabel wrote in a letter to Yachimovich: "In this Committee (convention), I intend on proposing that for the first time in Israeli politics we will perform the elections for heading the party in the form of open primaries, in which anyone with the right to vote in the general elections could declare his support for the Labor party, pay a small sum and vote."
