Report: Morsi refused to resign, leave Egypt

The Egyptian Al-Ahram newspaper reported that deposed President Mohamed Morsi refused an offer to leave the country for Yemen, Qatar, Turkey or any other country. According to the report, Morsi also refused to announce his resignation on Wednesday, which led the army to consult legal experts to form the dramatic statement of his ouster.
The Muslim Brotherhood offered the army that the movement will accept Morsi's resignation and distancing from power, but they asked for a two-day postponement to consult, organize and prepare for the new situation. The proposal was rejected. (Roi Kais)
