Israel's ambassador to Washington Michael Oren announced the end of his role. An official statement has yet to be issued, but Ron Dramer, who was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's most senior advisor, is intended to return to the embassy where he once served as economic attaché.
"After more than four years in which I've had the honor to serve as Israel's ambassador to the United States, I will end my role in the coming fall," Oren said. The ambassador, who gave up his American citizenship for his position, clarified that he intends to "continue to serve the people of Israel in the future, and improve the historical alliance between Israel and the US."
