Peri bill for equal share of burden approved by government

The Peri Bill for Equal Share of the Burden was approved by the government with 14 votes in favor and four abstained votes.
According to the bill's outline, which was approved last May by a committee headed by Minister Yaakov Peri, haredim aged 21 will be required to join the army within 4 years, except for 1,800 exemptions given to exceptional Torah scholars.
