Egypt: Masses gather in Tahrir square

Ousted Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi's supporters and opponents are amassing in Cairo's Tahrir square. Earlier it was reported that the deposed president's supporters are planning a mass demonstration on Sunday to demand his return to office.

Meanwhile, armed men attacked four checkpoints in Sheikh Zawid in northern Sinai, near the Gaza Strip. They fired toward soldiers and police officers. None were injured. (News agencies)
