Egypt: Gunmen kill soldier in attack on military checkpoint

Gunmen attacked a military checkpoint Sunday, in the north of Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, killing a soldier, security officials said.

The attack took place near the town of El-Arish, where Islamist terrorists stormed the headquarters of the governorate of Northern Sinai Friday evening, the official said. (AFP)
