Seventy three percent of Israelis believe that the country’s government is run by a handful of interested parties dominated by foreign interests. This is according to a survey, "Global Corruption Barometer" (Global Corruption Barometer-GCB) for 2013.
The survey also found that 12% reported paying a bribe in the past year in one of the eight following services: the judiciary, the police, healthcare, licensing and others. Eighty nine percent of the public believe in using personal contacts or the need to be extremely assertive in order to promote their interests with authorities. (Chen Pundak, Calcalist)
