Ilan Halevi, Jewish-Palestinian PLO member, passes away

Ilan Halevi, a Jewish-Palestinian journalist and politician, a former advisor to PLO Leader Yasser Arafat, passed away aged 69 in a Paris hospital, the Palestinian delegation in France stated.

"His death put an end to 69 years of a life devoted to the Palestinian Authority," the statement read. Halevi was a member of the PLO delegation to the Madrid Summit and deputy to former Palestinian Foreign Minister Nabil Shaat. (AFP)
