State comptroller discusses reports of '2nd prisoner X'
State Comptroller Joseph Shapira addressed Thursday reports of a prisoner held under the same conditions as Ben Zygier was, saying that he will order a probe into the matter only if the prime minister, defense minister, Shin Bet or Mossad confirmed the issue.
"It is important to note," he added, "that prisoners… are entitled to be treated with dignity and have their rights protected… including the right to a fair trial. I am certain that the State makes sure such rights are protected." (Itay Blumenthal)
