Typhoon hits East Asia, 300,000 flee homes in China

According to the BBC, one man was killed and 21 were injured as Typhoon Soulik struck Taiwan and caused strong winds and heavy rains. More than 8,500 people were evacuated from mountainous regions in the country.
Chinese news agency "Xinhua" reported that the storm has also hit the province of Fujian in southeast China, and more than 300,000 people were evacuated from their homes. Some 5,500 soldiers were stationed across the country in order to help the rescuing forces. (Ynet)
