Driver convicted of negligent killing of 5 jailed for 5 years

The Beersheba Magistrate's Court sentenced for five years in jail Mohamed al-Gabor, 26 from Rahat, who was convicted of the negligent manslaughter of five members of the Dahan family in a traffic accident on the Arava Road in 2010.

The judge also sentenced him to a year probation and suspended his driver's license for 20 years. The judge decided the accused will not pay compensation to the family since "any monetary sum to be decided on in this verdict will demean the victims." (Neri Brenner)
