Zvi Bar will not run for mayor of Ramat Gan
In a High Court of Justice hearing against the continued term of Zvi Bar as mayor of Ramat Gan, Bar announced he will not run in the upcoming elections on October 22. Bar is accused of accepting bribes for the sum of NIS 1.9 ($510,000) to back real-estate projects in the city, fraud, breach of trust, money laundering and obstruction of justice.
The statement follows the comments of Supreme Court President Asher Grunis who said: "We think that publicly, it is unacceptable at this stage that Bar continues to hold office." (Aviel Magnezi)
