Finance Minister Yair Lapid announced Sunday that he requests to appoint his political adviser Uri Shani as a special adviser to the housing cabinet. Lapid is also interested in appointing Shani as chairman of a government company designated to handle a layout for long-term rental housing.
According to Lapid, Shani was a confidant of former Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, and was involved in the establishment of a plan to build residential areas for long-term rentals. (Avital Lahav)
