3 men charged with extorting resident of south after Cast Lead

Three men from Hadera are suspected of extorting a man who stayed at their house during Operation Cast Lead.
At the time they suspected the man of stealing NIS 5,000 (roughly $1,390) from them while he was their guest and 'fined' him NIS 10,000 (roughly $2,780) for it. One of the three later admitted to stealing the money. The court sentenced them to 20 days probation and 240 community services. Each will also pay the man NIS 2,000 (roughly $556). (Raanan Ben-Zur)
