The headquarters of the rabbi of Safed, Shmuel Eliyahu, refered to the Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein, who earlier in the week stated that the candidacy of Eliyahu for chief rabbi was inappropriate and said, "On the eve of Tisha B'Av, the AG chose to show his mask of hypocrisy and stomp on democracy."
The headquarters added that "the AG, who allowed serious acts of Knesset members against IDF soldiers and gave support to leaders of the Islamic movement, choose to try Eliyahu and made himself prosecutor, judge and executioner." (Kobi Nahshoni)
