Committee: Schools who teach core studies to receive 55% funding
None
The Knesset's Education Committee has authorized a bill which conditions budgeting of education institutes exempt from teaching core studies. According to the bill, only education facilities in which mathematics, English and Hebrew are taught will receive 55% funding, while those failing to do so will receive only 30% funding.
The decision still needs to pass the Knesset and if it should pass would come into effect only in January 2014. (Gilad Morag)
