US Chief of Staff: Military option in Syria under consideration
None
The US Chief of Joint Staff General Martin Dempsey said before the Senate's Armed Services Committee that President Obama is considering the military option among the different approaches to deal with the Syrian crisis.
In a hearing regarding the extension of his term in office, he said he offered the administration the possibility of focused strikes in Syria. Dempsey's statements do not diverge from the US's official policy, which considers airstrikes in Syria without the use of ground forces. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
