Morsi supporters rally in Egypt, UN presses gov't

Thousands of supporters of deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi gathered in Cairo on Friday for a rally to demand the restoration of the ousted Islamist, with his opponents also planning protests nearby.

Meanwhile, the top United Nations human rights official has asked Egypt's interim government to explain why the army detained Morsi and his close aides and whether it plans to put them on trial, a UN spokesman said. (Reuters)
