Lapid in New York Times: EU ban endangers peace process

Finance Minister Yair Lapid condemned in an op-ed on the New York Times the European Union's new guidelines which deny funding of Israeli entities operating beyond the 1967 line and called them "misguided mistakes of well-intentioned people."

Lapid wrote that the guidelines will "delay the resumption of peace negotiations," and encourage Palestinian extremists who object to talks with Israel. The minister also argued that the new guidelines jeopardize joint economic projects by the Palestinian Authority and Israel, which he discussed with his Palestinian counterpart. (Ynet)
