Foreign Ministry condemns EU ban

The Foreign Ministry condemned the European Union's new guidelines banning funding of Israeli entities operating beyond the 1967 line, and termed them "the EU Commission's attempt to force opinions on issues that belong on the negotiating table between the Israelis and Palestinians."

According to the Foreign Ministry, "Israel doubts the political wisdom represented by the steps, both due to their content and their timing." It was also related that "it would have been better if the energy exerted in these steps would have been diverted to peace-encouraging moves." (Attila Somfalvi)
