Report: Peres convinced Abbas to resume talks 2 months ago
President Shimon Peres secretly met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Amman two months ago, Britain's The Sunday Times reported. According to the report, Peres convinced Abbas to allow settlers in the West Bank and Jews in east Jerusalem to stay there and in exchange offered that they be citizens of a new Palestinian state.
The report may refer to a meeting that was held on the sidelines of a financial conference held in Amman in May. (Ynet)
