Opposition Leader Shelly Yachimovich met with President Shimon Peres at his home and discussed with him the latest political developments. Peres stressed in their conversation that he appreciates the support Yachimovitch has given to the peace process and said that there must be a unification of forces to allow Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to advance the political process.
Yachimovich welcomed the resumption of negotiations and said, "The process itself is welcome and will immediately help Israel in the international arena. But remember the goal is not the process itself, but to achieve a real agreement." (Moran Azulay)
