Gov’t approves reform in planning, construction

The government unanimously voted in favor of the proposal by Interior Minister Gideon Sa'ar to reform planning and construction. The reform, also called "pergola reform," focuses on trying to speed up planning processes of small construction works such as adding a pergola, building a safe room and enclosing a balcony.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, "We want to simplify these processes, cut red tape and shorten timeframes." (Omri Efraim and Avital Lahav)
