Peretz: What if budget opened to referendum?

Environmental Protection Minister Amir Peretz (Hatnua) referred to the ultimatum set by Habayit Hayehudi, which announced it will support the budget in return for a referendum of the people on the agreement with the Palestinians.
"Habayit Hayehudi is not comfortable with the political process, and among the Hatnua faction, the budget is difficult. What would happen if we call to bring the budget, which has the support of the government, to a referendum? Would it have a majority among the people?" Peretz asked. (Moran Azulay)
