Peres sends new British heir blue-and-white baby clothes

President Shimon Peres congratulates UK's royal heir 'on behalf of whole Jewish nation', sends newborn Israeli-made baby outfit. 'Israel joins me in wishing entire royal family hearty Mazal Tov'

Britain's royal heir, born Monday evening to Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, has likely already been showered with gifts from many excited Brits, but an additional present was added to the list Tuesday. Israeli President Shimon Peres has sent the royal couple a baby suit on behalf of Israel.

The President's Residence issued a special greeting card to Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton for the birth of their first son, to which the president added a special gift for the newborn – an embroidered blue-and-white baby suit reading: "From Israel with love". The suit also includes a small tie and a hat for chilly days.

"From Jerusalem, we pray for his health, his future and his peace. May he live to a hundred and twenty years, and I know that the whole Jewish nation joins me in wishing the entire royal family a hearty Mazal Tov."

The royal gift is making its way to the United Kingdom, where the night-long celebrations of the heir's birth continue. The card and the gift will be given to Prince William and Kate by Britain's Ambassador to Israel Matthew Gould.
