Polling for the positions of chief rabbi ended at 6 pm on Wednesday, at the Leonardo hotel in Jerusalem. 147 of 150 electoral body members exercised their right to vote. Four were absent from the vote, but their selections were known in advance.
A vote count will begin shortly. The announcement of the rabbis is expected at 8pm. Electoral Assembly members remain nearby so that a second vote can take place in the event of a tie between the two leading candidates. (Kobi Nahshoni)
