Two people were killed Thursday when their car exploded near the Yarkonim Junction
in central Israel.
The car was traveling on highway 5 when the blast occurred, and the car caught fire. Emergency forces arrived at the scene, reporting that as a result of the fire, parts of the car were hurled in all directions.

As a result of the blast, glass and metal ricocheted in the direction of a nearby car, but passengers did not sustain injuries.

Police bomb squad gathered remains of the explosive device in an attempt to trace the perpetraters and determine the circumstances.
According to initial police evaluations, an explosive deceive was planted in the car.
