Turkey: Bird accused of spying for Israel 'innocent'

Turkish authorities announced that the bird caught in a field in the south of the country and accused of spying for Israel – is innocent, Turkish media reported.

The bird was caught about a year ago in a town near the Syrian border, carrying a ring on its leg with the inscription "24311 Tel Aviv Israel." Authorities conducted an examination of the bird, including an X-ray scan, to make sure it does not carry any microphones, and were finally convinced the bird is not a spy. (Ynet)
