An increase of 9% in business sector layoffs were recorded in the second quarter of the year. During the previous quarter, 26,000 employees were laid off per month, in comparison to 28,000 per month in the current quarter. This is according to data from the Economy Ministry.
Benny Fefferman, manager of Research and Economics at the Economy Ministry said, "In the last quarter, we are getting the picture of a certain deterioration in the labor market. It is especially notable in the decreased staffing." (Billy Frenkel)
