Negotiator: Palestinians welcome Israeli okay for prisoners' release

The Palestinian Authority welcomed Israel's decision to release 104 prisoners, chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said.

"We welcome the decision of the Israeli government to release prisoners who were arrested before the Oslo Accords. We believe it is an important step and we hope to seize the opportunity provided by the efforts of the US administration to achieve a durable and just peace," said Erekat. (AFP)
