Peres: EU should leave negotiations to Israel, Palestinians

President Shimon Peres said that "the European Union should assist the peace process, but leave the negotiations to Israel and Palestinian and let it develop. They should show restraint, the required intervention of the EU at this point should to be in supporting the peace process and both sides."
In a visit to Latvia, while meeting Latvian President Andris Berzins, Peres added: "The negotiations that start today between Israel and the Palestinian could end the conflict. Difficult and historic decisions are required to be made by both parties." (Noam Dvir)
