Fischer: Regret Frenkel's decision to withdraw BOI chief bid

Retiring Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer addressed Prof. Jacob Frenkel's decision to withdraw his candidacy from the post of governor and said: "I regret that recent developments have not allowed him to serve the country as governor again."
Fischer further added: "Frenkel served as an excellent governor during his term and I am certain that if he were appointed again, he would have contributed plenty to the State of Israel, its citizens and the Israeli economy." (Avital Lahav)
