In the beginning of July, a woman living in the couple's neighborhood in a town near Hadera heard someone crying for "mommy and daddy" outside her house, and when she stepped outside she noticed a toddler walking by herself. She took her in and reported the incident to the police.
Shortly after, the toddler's parents called the police and said that their daughter was kidnapped while she was sleeping and that they fear she might have been taken by a pedophile.
The two year old was taken to medical evaluation, but initial tests did not reveal any findings that can indicate that she was molested.
On Tuesday, however, DNA results of samples taken from the girl's diaper revealed the father's sperm.
The mother was released under restrictive conditions and the father is to be brought to a remand hearing Wednesday.
Police have also taken the couple's two other children for questioning, to determine their well being.
