Ashton: Will be difficult to return Morsi to power
The newspaper Al-Hayat reported that the Foreign Minister of the European Union Catherine Ashton said to a delegation of prominent Egyptian Islamist parties that it will be difficult to restore deposed Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi power.
The delegation claimed that the goal of demonstrations against Morsi was early presidential elections and that this was attainable, while maintaining constitutional legitimacy. Ashton said that the EU delegation may supervise the elections, in order to ensure their fairness. (Roi Kais)
