Chief rabbis of Israel agree to share responsibilities

The newly elected Chief Rabbis of Israel, Yitzhak Yosef and David Lau, have decided to share responsibilities between them, it was reported Wednesday.

 

The two rabbis came to an agreement under which Lau will be director of the Chief Rabbinate of Israel Council while Yosef will be president of the Rabbinical Court. After five years they will rotate positions, as is customary. (Kobi Nachshoni)
