US Senator McCain weighs in on Egypt crisis talks

None

Two US senators met Egyptian army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in Cairo on Thursday as part of an international diplomatic push to ease the political crisis brought on by the military overthrow of President Mohamed Morsi last month.

Republicans Lindsey Graham and John McCain of the Senate Armed Services Committee took on the mission at the request of U.S. President Barack Obama, reflecting Washington's anxiety at events in Egypt, long a bulwark of its Middle East policy. (Reuters)
