Knesset to hold special session on BOI governorship tangle

The Knesset will convene for a special plenum session during its recess following the government's failure to nominate a new governor for the Bank of Israel. The motion, initiated by MK Merav Michaeli (Labor), was filed on Tuesday and was signed by all the opposition's factions.
"The State of Israel in general and the Bank of Israel in particular are not the private business of the prime minister or the finance minister," Michaeli said. "The public has the right to know what were the reasons behind the finance minister's agreeing with Netanyahu's firm decision against Karnit Flug's nomination, whom he backed." (Moran Azulay)
