UN chief urges Egyptian foreign minister to free Morsi

UN Chief Ban Ki-moon talked on the phone with Egypt's interim Foreign Minister Nabil Fahmi and reiterated his request to release deposed President Mohamed Morsi from jail, a UN statement said.

The statement added that Ban asked Egyptian authorities to act for the preservation of civilians' rights. (AFP)
