Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu convened a cabinet meeting with ministers Naftali Bennett, Yair Lapid, Tzipi Livni, Shai Piron, Yair Shamir and Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin to discuss the EU's recent decision banning agreements between EU states and entities operating in the Israeli settlements. During the meeting it was decided that Israel will request further clarifications from the EU regarding the new directive.
According to officials, the ministers agreed that the ban harms the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. In addition, the ministers also objected to Israel signing a scientific collaboration deal with the EU. (Moran Azulay)
