Egypt official: Israel closed Eilat airport because of our warning

None

A high-ranking Egyptian army official told the Palestinian Ma'an news agency that Israel had closed the Eilat airport on Thursday after receiving a warning from Cairo regarding plans of Sinai terror groups to attack Israeli targets using missiles with a 70 km range.

The report said that Egypt's intelligence services obtained information whereby Sinai terrorists have anti-aircraft missiles and intend to strike security and strategic facilities in Sinai during Eid al-Fitr. It was further reported that Egyptian jets were circling over Sinai to thwart any missile launches. (Elior Levy)
