Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm reported that a senior jihadist source in Sinai said that the violent acts in Sinai will cease upon the return of ousted President Mohamed Morsi to power. He clarified that the reasons for the crisis in Sinai are the military coup, the ousting of Morsi and the arrest of protesters.
The source also addressed reports regarding an Israeli strike in Sinai on Friday: "It is a betrayal of the army. How do they let an Israeli aircraft enter and murder jihad militants?" (Roi Kais)
