Education Minister cancels standardized school tests

Education Minister Shai Pirson announced the cancellation of national standardized tests in the upcoming school year. Education Ministry sources claim that in recent years there has been an inappropriate use of the tests and that the publication of their results led to imbalance between schools.
"The standardized tests are important and valuable evaluation tools, which we should continue to use in the future, however they cannot be carried on with in their present format," said Minister Piron. "The current form of the tests harms schools, teachers and students." (Shachar Chai)
