The cabinet approved the extension of the Turkel Committee, which vets all appointments of senior civil servants, by three more years.
Voices recently called to cancel the committee after the elongation in the appointment of a Bank of Israel governor based on a series of embarrassing reports regarding possible candidates. (Attila Somfalvi)
