Ya'alon: Merkava tank will not be discontinued
Defense Moshe Minister Moshe Ya'alon met Kiryat Shmona Mayor Nissim Malka and industrial entrepreneurs during a tour in northern Israel and said that Israel has no plan to stop the production of the merkava tank. "It's a social-national issue as well," he added.
"I've determined that the production of the merkava tank will not be stopped despite the budget limitations. As far as I'm concerned it serves as an anchor, because it reflects our own capabilities based on unique knowledge." (Ynet)
