Report: 13 killed, 42 injured in Beirut blast

Nine were killed in a car bomb explosion in the Dahiyeh quarter of Beirut, Lebanon, an eyewitness told Reuters. The Lebanese Red Cross said only three bodies were counted so far. The Voice of Lebanon radio station said more than 13 people killed and 42 injured. Several cars are on fire in the area, and some people are trapped in devastated buildings.
The explosion occurred in the Dahiyeh quarter, a Hezbollah stronghold in southern Beirut. Earlier it was reported the group imposed a curfew in the area. (Roi Kais, news agencies)
