Report: Gunmen initially intended to kidnap Sinai policemen

Interim Egyptian President Adli Mansour met with the interior minister to discuss the implications of the Sinai attack that saw 25 policemen being executed by militants.

Al-Ahram reported that the terrorists initially intended to abduct the policemen but eventually started shooting them because of their large number. A source at the Egyptian interior ministry said that the ambush was planned in advance. (Roi Kais)
