Israel estimates: High likelihood of US attack in Syria

Following a phone conversation Friday night between IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz and US Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin Dempsey, Israel is estimating that the US will take action in Syria even without a UN Security Council resolution.

A senior IDF source said that in the conversation, a number of urgent Middle Eastern issues were discussed, mainly Assad's use of chemical weapons and latest events in Lebanon. The American administration is looking for hard evidence regarding the massive use of chemical weapons against civilians, and will act when the evidence will surface. (Ron Ben-Yishai)
