Military sources: Qalandia fire followed riot of 1,500 people
Military sources said that a Border Guard force entered Qalandia during the night, when a riot with 1,500 people broke out. The force used riot dispersal equipment and fired live ammunition at the demonstrators' feet. An IDF force located nearby assisted the riot dispersing efforts.
According to the Palestinians, the Israeli force meant to arrest a Palestinian prisoner that was released from prison a month ago. They further claimed that in the activity, two Palestinians were killed and 15 were injured. (Itamar Fleishman, Elior Levy)
