Report: Snowden reached out to Russia back in HK

A respected Russian newspaper says National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden spent two days in the Russian Consulate in Hong Kong directly before leaving on an abortive attempt to reach asylum in Latin America.
Snowden in June flew to Moscow, intending to change to a Cuba-bound flight. He reportedly then aimed to go on to Bolivia and seek asylum. But he did not board the flight to Havana and remained in limbo until being granted asylum in Russia on Aug 1. (AP)
